Our
Story
Found Creature is the joint creation of singer-songwriter, Charlotte Grey and interdisciplinary artist and performer, Theo Leverenz. It began in Spring of 2023 with the intentions of creative encouragement and collaboration.
What started as play quickly became fully-fledged projects. Through Found Creature we have entered a new era as artists and are thrilled to combine our separate talents in our shared passion for storytelling.
Our Vision
What can we learn from celebrating difference rather than sameness?
In a world hostile to difference, we seek to find ways to celebrate and make space for narratives outside those normally considered. We explore transness, queerness, non-human consciousness and mental health in Two Stars in the Vast Dark, our inaugural theatrical collaboration. We believe in addressing outsider perspectives to foster relationships built not on sameness, but diverse viewpoints and experiences. To this practice we bring our experience as trans, queer, neurodivergent creatives and our burning desire to create more narratives like this for the people that need them.

It is equally important to us to find ways to make performance accessible. We love performing in living rooms, community centers, and nontraditional spaces because it feels more intimate, with a less intimidating fourth wall. On a philosophical level the spaces we love allow us to bring performance to people that either would not or could not access performance in traditional "High Art" environments.
